On the Swedish Post and Telecom Agency (PTS) website "Telepriskollen" (Telecom tariff comparison site), consumers get help with comparing prices and conditions of various operators within fixed and mobile telephony, fixed and mobile broadband, dial-up Internet and also bundles, where the consumer buys fixed broadband, telephony and television from the same operator.
The aim of this Internet service is to help the consumer find the best offers on the basis of their conditions and needs.
With Telepriskollen the consumer can compare prices in three different ways:
Telepriskollen provides independent and correct information about ordinary prices and conditions such as, for example, service quality. The information comes from the operators themselves, but is always checked by PTS. The website is also used to make price reports and other analyses, as all the information is stored in a database.
All operators that have notified their operations to PTS, according to the Swedish Electronic Communications Act, are able to participate in Telepriskollen.
Telepriskollen has between 40 000 and 50 000 visitors every month. During 2008 the website increased its visitor frequency by 50 per cent.
